I think the surname gives that away, eyewitness or otherwise

One could say the same about Ben Cohen - but he's noted otherwise.

Fair point, Johnny. I remember reading about Ben Cohen once and he said his family had not been religious for a very long time

Agreed, needs a verified source to back up the claim.

Again no source for the eyewitness account, disappointing even if you make an assumption of heritage which may not be the case.

Indeed Sam, could be anyone with a remotely Jewish name. Very disappointing.

Let’s be honest here. This kind of assumption is bordering on cultural appropriation. Sounds Jewish = must be circumcised.

We don’t make assumptions on religion nor circumcision status. The Circumcised or Not page is evidence of that. In this case a reliable source gave us a first hand account.

I certainly didn't mean my comment to be taken badly. As far as I am concerned, I wish I met more Jewish men (and American men, come to that) as it is more likely they are cut. I think people are far too sensitive sometimes!

Forgive me, but I don't 'get' this modern obsession with what is termed "cultural appropriation" !

What British men are packing downstairsMore than one in five British men are circumcised (helmets/roundheads), but a lot of our cut brothers have grown up feeling isolated. Categories
