Josh Parker, 30 - Liverpool
Where were you born?
I was born in Liverpool.
When did you first become aware of circumcision?
I honestly don’t remember, though it would have probably been in my teenage years. I did used to watch a lot of porn back then and obviously you can visually tell the difference between a circumcised penis and a non-circumcised one. I never really thought at that time I'd end up cut myself, but I never saw an issue with cut guys. All dicks looked hot to me.
Are any members of your immediate family circumcised?
As far as I'm aware I’m the only one in my family who is circumcised. However, I don’t really have a close family, so it’s not like I’ve made any conscious effort to enquire about such things.
At what age were you circumcised?
I was circumcised at the age of 22, almost in the middle of my porn career. I think around about that time I’d filmed three porn DVDs and for four websites, so there are still pictures and clips somewhere lurking around that do display me with my foreskin.

"People think I was circumcised due to tight foreskin. In actual fact, they are wrong. I was circumcised due to frenulum breve, which is the medical term for a ‘short frenulum’"
What is the main reason you were circumcised?
This is always a funny one for me, because I always come across websites and blogs where people state I was circumcised due to tight foreskin. In actual fact, they are wrong. I was circumcised due to frenulum breve, which is the medical term for a ‘short frenulum’. The diagnosis of frenulum breve is almost always confused with that of phimosis (tight foreskin).
When the foreskin is fully retracted, which mine would do easily (which why it wasn’t tight foreskin), the short frenulum pulls the head of the penis down. This can be quite painful during sex and in my case it was. I also remember at times it would become red and irritated around the area. I have heard people talk about ‘frenulectomy’, which basically means the cutting and removal of the frenulum, however, the urologist I spoke to was more in favour of a full circumcision, which is also a well-known practice for frenulum breve.
Are you happy about being circumcised?
Well, again, what most people are unaware of was that I was also suffering acute body dysmorphia at the time. I really didn’t like to look at my foreskin. I can’t begin to really explain the reasons behind that, I guess it was psychological, but it was just an intense feeling of dislike and it kind of made me feel grossed out when I had to wash it in private. One other thing I can’t really explain about that issue was that it didn’t bother me to have sex with other people who had a foreskin, but I can say that was probably due to their foreskin not being attached to my body.
I explained the way I was feeling to a urologist, but he said that would not be a valid reason to be circumcised on the NHS. Then after we talked about the frenulum breve, which he inspected and confirmed himself, he said that is more than a valid reason to be circumcised. So, to answer the question – Yes. I had this instant sigh of relief and I remember walking out almost teary with a huge smile on my face.
I think they did a good job on my penis, but the only thing I had a slight issue with was the frenulum they left behind, they decided to trim it down. I’d not long had my frenulum pierced (which was kinda dumb of me, now I think back). So, the amount of skin between the piercing hole and the frenulum was very fine, which caused my frenulum to snap, just as I was filming a solo scene at Blake Mason. The remainder looked like a skin tag, which I kept for roughly about 3 years - until I removed it after performing meatotomy surgery on myself. Pretty risky right? But thankfully I was successful in accomplishing that and it’s healed nicely.
If you don’t know what a meatotomy is, it’s the start of a sub-incision (slicing the head of the penis down). A meatotomy means only the head of the penis is open, where as a sub-incision is anywhere beyond that. Some people ask why someone would do it. It’s simply because the inside of the penis head is very sensitive, so to open it can offer more sensation. It’s also more pleasurable for the receiving person, because the head expands while having sex, making the head feel larger in size. I’ve had a lot of feedback from it. Most of the guys I’ve played with have been turned on by opening the head and having a lick around, but on the other end of the spectrum, some people are fully against body modification.
How did I cut my frenulum and perform the meatotomy? Well, after watching countless numbers of videos online, I watched carefully at others taking a surgical clamp to their dicks, pressing tightly until the skin became paper thin and then slowly cutting the dead skin to make the incisions. I honestly like it and I feel much better about my penis. Some people have asked if I’ll cut further, but I have no plans to do that. I’m not sure if I ever will.
What is the best/worst thing about being circumcised?
Well, the best thing is I can now have sex in comfort, which is always a nice thing. I don’t think anyone wants to feel pressure or pain on their cock when they are trying to engage in sex. I’m also happy with the look and appearance. It’s also great for hygiene, as bacteria can’t remain and grow inside the foreskin.
I think the only downfall, is that guys who aren’t cut don’t seem to get the technique right. It really is as simple as resting your hand somewhere a bit lower down past the head and letting your hand move up and down – you kind of want to see a little bit of the penis skin moving up above and onto the head. I find most uncut guys will literally wrap their hand around the head and force down or grab too tightly onto the penis and yank it about, it just causes friction and it’s not that pleasant. A lot of the time, I have to stop guys and show them how I like it.
If you had a son, would you circumcise him?
Definitely not, it’s not my body and I don’t think it's fair to make that decision for my child. I would hate the idea of me deciding to circumcise my son and it later caused him insecurity issues. If, later on in life, they decided they didn’t want their foreskin or they discovered there was a medical reason I would gladly support their decision.
