THE HOME OF
We've received word from our Australian brothers that Helmet or Hoodie, upon which this very site is based, has shut down permanently.
Helmet or Hoodie was subject to a recent story on ABC Triple J's Hack programme (a rough equivalent to BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat). In the story a lawyer likened Helmet or Hoodie to a form of 'revenge porn' - and our brother's decided the time had come to close the curtain on the site and associated Twitter feed. We think the Triple J Cut or Uncut story is a load of tosh and we're gutted to lose our brother-site. If you have any thoughts on this for Triple J, you can reach them at [email protected]. Triple J seem to be on a bit of a circumcision drive at the moment as they published a second story the day after asking Why Australian men are no longer getting circumcised? We'd like to thank Helmet or Hoodie for the voice they gave to many men who struggled with their circumcision status over the years. Also a huge thank you for being OK with us copying your idea! To all our Aussie brothers - you're welcome to hang out here. Cheers, THUK

If this were a site to support women, he never would have been allowed to get away with this. Another example of dual standards. What about #ustoo!

I hope somebody has saved all the statuses of The Aussie guy’s and shares them on another site. It would be a shame to lose that info.

I am surprised there are so many snowflakes in Australia. Many men in Britain seem happy to share the info on their status on social media. It would be different if photojournalists were taking pictures of men in public conveniences, but there doesn't seem to be that sort of intrusion (I have no interest in the Royal Family but I remember for several years tabloids were interested in the status of Princes William and Harry who were at that time underage. I don't believe there were any underage men on the Australian site, so don't understand the problem.

Media have been brainwashing the Australian publiic for years on this matter; thinly veiled ant isemitism, or just plain unscientific superstition? And the once revered national broadcaster rhe ABC are no longer a trusted source as they turn to popularism and sensationalism in a desperate bid for an audience....

There seems to be some sort of site back up, but not the full thing.

There is a 'new' take on the site called Hoodie or Helmet - but it still looks like the original hasn't been updated for over 12 months.

What British men are packing downstairsMore than one in five British men are circumcised (helmets/roundheads), but a lot of our cut brothers have grown up feeling isolated. Categories
